GREAT commentary on Darfur

Translated from Portuguese:

"Admitting to genocide compels us

to do something about it..."

I came across this GREAT op-ed from Nick Kristof of the NYT. He writes some great commentary and he has that off-the-wall-tongue-in-cheek reporting that I personally enjoy (He did a wonderful special report on North Korea last week). Check it out:

All Ears for Tom Cruise, All Eyes on Brad Pitt (NYT 07262005) By NICHOLAS D. KRISTOF

There is a really cool slidesow on his trip to Darfur as well. If you get a chance, surf around his page in NYT and check out his trip to North Korea. Very cool.

It really does suck. Darfur is very "out of sight, out of mind" with the mainstream-media. I guess in a way its to relieve our consciences from doing anything. Ignorance is bliss. Anyhow, I give props to Kristof who uses his platform and resources to make the issue known to readers. Yeah, he's only one man with maybe a small voice, but at least he's living up to his journalistic integrity.

Darfur, BABY!

The latest addition of "Oops, My Bad..."

Man, this is probably the biggest "When Keeping it Real Goes Wrong..." incident in the world right now. Those cops really fcuked up. See what happens with you give guns to "Bobbies?"

Britain Says Man Killed by Police Had No Tie to Bombings NYT 07242005

The tone of the article feels kinda foreboding... nothing good will come of this. It certainly continues to reinforce and re-energize the plight faced by Muslims or muslim-looking peeps.
