Seeking Advice from Fellow Shoe-Whores
Anywhoie... my current pair of "black-sporty-going-out-casual" shoes are falling apart from wear and tear(see below pic.)
Steve Madden. I think that I've had them for over 3 years now? -GASP- They look extra shiny-black because I put that liquid shoe polish stuff on them recently to cover up the embarrasing scuffs.
I think it may be time to retire them or dump them into a PlanetAid bin.
So, I thought that I would try something different and solicit my audience for input.
I've linked 5 different pairs of shoes below. Which do you like best?
Some questions to ask yourself as you evaluate:
- Which of the following shoes do you find yourself most attracted to?
- For those who are intimately familiar with my personality (and wardrobe), which pair can you see YodaBeesh wearing... say on P St. on the way to Halo for cocktails? Or to Sunday brunch at Lauriol Plaza? Or to a last-minute dinner/movie...?
- Do any particular pairs make you say, "wow, those are some f**king cool shoes..."
Personally, I've had my eyes on the Tsubos for awhile... but the other day, my neighbor TLC mentioned the words "Pumas from ZAPPOS" to me. So, now I feel conflicted.
Please advise by posting your comment below.
1. Tsubo Sycorax Black
2. Tsubo Sycorax Black/White/Gray
3. PUMA Future Cat Lo P US
4. PUMA Mostro Nu
5. Puma Mostro Brogue

Beesh, I am all for the Puma's, they are hot in NYC, even Maddy owns a pair. My fav is #4 since I own a pair very close to that myself!

Well let's hear it for the NYC (in da' HOUSE!) Thanks for the prompt response!
There's a cool Puma store in Georgetown. Hmmmm.

I love the Tsubo Black - they have been on my shopping list but I haven't allowed myself to buy them. And since we're in completely different hemispheres I guess it's okay for you to have them, since the chance of turning up at a party wearing the same shoes is minimal.
Not big on the Pumas except the mostro nu. Those are pretty cool. The all black ones are not that great.

call me old fashioned, but Puma's still remind me of people who go to popeye's chicken.
Go with the Tsubo's in black.

I like the Tsubo's in black baby...

LesboBeesh: OH NO YOU DI'IN'T!
I remember back in the day when it seemed like it was always Adidas (the tri-band) vs. Puma (er... the puma). I think that I went through a pair of adidas indoor soccer shoes (the ones that everyone had/has) and prior to that a pair of Diadora's.
Probably in the last few years, Puma has brought to mind images of either Missy Elliot or Serena Williams.
I don't hang in West Philly too much these days, so I can't really vouch for the Popeye's correlation. BUT, I can say that they are very euro-trendy.
I like Tsubo because no one has a pair or has heard of them (except for the commenter from the other hemisphere.) I have to be the odd ball eccentric.

The all black pumas are cool.
I think that I recall mooching many rides from you in that Honda.

If you wish to "pimp your stride" --go with PUMA. If you wish to be seen with others who are not your baby momma's daddy, go with the Tsubo, mmkay!!??!! --from the 1st floor

Now to totally confuse you, I like the look of the Tsubo Black/White/Grey and also for the "different" factor. I love the Pumas too, so if you are going to get more than one pair, then get the Mostro Nu's. V cool.
TLC
And what is wrong with Popeye's chicken, if I may?

Dude,
Gotta agree with TLC on the Tsubo BWG, but differ such I'm also a big fan of the PUMA Future Cat. I find the Mostro Nus somewhat wonky. But then again, I'm a fan of orange pumas, so whadda I know?

PS: Go hoochies!

I think I'm eliminating #s 4 & 5. I don't know what I was smokin' when I added #5 to the list.
I looked at the Tsubo BWGs more closely... I love that the stripes transition from white to gray.
I REALLY DIG the Puma Future Cats, but I think they'd look better on someone else. I don't believe that I have the 'je ne sais quoi' factor to pull them off.
BTW... totally lovin' the ORANGE PUMAs. I saw them coming from a mile away. So f**king cool.
Cooler than my next-door neighbors.

BTW... note to the audience... the housemate, KMK, coincidentally brought home a huge box of Popeye's chicken for dinner with cole slaw, biscuits, and another unidentifiable side dish.
I caved in. This week has been pretty much a big train wreck in terms of my summer health program.

I'm definitely not feeling the last pair, unless you plan on climbing Mt. Kilamanjaro anytime in the near future.
I really like the Tsubo grey fading stripes (#2). I've never seen those around before. Good Japanese design.
I suggest going with #2 , #3, #4. Pumas will always be in style, and #3 has that minimalist and urban look and feel to it.
If you're into the 'stripe' look, check out Aldo's sometimes. Great quality shoes, and they have that European look.
Vans (checkered) shoes are hot right now! I saw alot of people in the Bay Area and NYC wearing the ones with the black and white checkered Vans with the roses in the past two months.
Some guy was wearing a pair of silver Pumas, I even thought was HOT!!
For that' wow' factor, try new color combos like white/lime green, and/or white/orange stripes (Adidas), red/black stripes (Diesel). Even Old Navy has some really nice pairs of "Chuck Taylor" looking ones, if you want to cheap it up.
Now I gotta Popeyes...
xoxo, a fellow gay Filipino Imelda shoe whore,

Pumas are ghetto and very 2004. You can do better, girl.
